A blank canvas has infinite possibilities. Without a sure plan, whatever I attempt to put on that canvas will turn out of be a hot mess.
Though the blank canvas presents a plethora of options, many factors play into whether what adorns it will be successful. In other words, I can plan all I want to, but when it comes down to it, I either have to know what I'm doing or be in the process of learning for the piece to be successful.
As I've said before, I've made some butt-ugly artwork. Most of the time it was because I had no idea what I was doing, or had no solid plan. There are elements of each art piece that are free flowing, but I still must have an idea of placement, shape, and space.
Planning our lives are the same way. We can plan all we want, but until we get the One Who knows what He's doing involved, we have the potential to create a butt-ugly, hot mess of a life.
